PRO BONO

From the very beginning, SZUSTOW. KULTURA I KOMUNIKACJA was conceived as a company to support interesting, unconventional initiatives. Today in Poland, many important projects are carried out on minimal budgets, driven by ambition and determination of the artists and visionaries. We strive to find initiatives close to our soul; faith in the success of a project translates to success in the media. So far, we have successfully supported:

JERZ IGOR — fundraising campaign for the release of the debut album

Jerz Igor is Jerzy Rogiewicz and Igor Nikiforow, musicians associated with a pack of bands from Warsaw’s independent scene, including: Levity, Pink Freud, Paula & Karol, Warszawska Orkiestra Rozrywkowa or the bands of Marcin Masecki. Jerz Igor dreamt of recording an album for children to which they would gladly listen themselves. They asked friends to write the lyrics, then they composed the music, recorded the instruments and the vocals. To ensure a truly home-like atmosphere of the songs, they recorded them in an old house with beautiful sound and a cosy rehearsal room. This is how the material for the album “Mała płyta” was created.
SZUSTOW. KULTURA I KOMUNIKACJA organised fundraising via a crowdfunding service. The album was released in 2014.

REBEKA — media guidance of the band

The revelation of the Polish electro scene of the last several years. Their sound is often labelled as ‘mystical’ and ‘insanely catchy’; the duo’s artistic maturity and consciousness have been widely acclaimed. Iwona Skwarek and Bartek Szczęsny, as Rebeka, released the debut “Hellada” and EP “BREATH” and gave numerous club performances, among them — as one of few Polish bands — as part of the legendary Boiler Room.
SZUSTOW. KULTURA I KOMUNIKACJA provided media guidance for the band REBEKA in the period December 2014–December 2015.

Sylwia Chutnik’s “Dzidzia” — support of the fundraising campaign and the communication of the audiobook premiere

It was the actress Magda Karel who first came with the idea of releasing “Dzidzia” in the form of an audiobook. She convinced her boxing ring friends: Sylwia Chutnik (author, winner of the Paszport Polityki Award), Natalia Fiedorczuk (singer, instrumentalist, associated with Nathalie and the Loners) and Monika Stolarska (paintress).
SZUSTOW. KULTURA I KOMUNIKACJA supported the crowdfunding campaign for an independent release of the audiobook and provided media guidance of the promotion of the release.
Sylwia Chutnik’s “Dzidzia” came out as an audiobook in February 2016.

SHEKLE — support of the fundraising campaign for the participation of the first and the only Polish female crew in the European sailing championship ORC 2017

Shekle are eleven sailors with different on-deck experience from different parts of the country. What brought them together is the passion and the goal: to put an end to the stereotype of sailing as a male only sport and to inspire girls from around the country (and beyond) to pursue their sport dreams.
SZUSTOW. KULTURA I KOMUNIKACJA supported the crowdfunding campaign for the participation of SHEKLE in the European sailing championship ORC 2017 in Gdańsk. The amount of at least PLN 48 thousand was necessary to cover the costs of yacht charter, fuel, starting fees and berth charges; ultimately, as much as over PLN 54 thousand was collected. Shekle will compete in the championship in July 2017.
